Biden: "Israel Is Moving In Wrong Direction"
Yesterday was another day when Israelis were reminded, not that they needed to be, of how merciless their enemies are. A bomb was detonated by Palestinian terrorists on a bus in Jerusalem, wounding 21 Israelis, including women and children.
Also yesterday Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) uncovered another Hamas terror tunnel entering Israel from Gaza. These tunnels have one purpose - to provide a transit route into Israel for Hamas jihadists to use to murder Israeli civilians in their homes, schools and synagogues.
But here in Washington burned Israelis and invasion tunnels aimed at civilian populations did not deter the Obama Administration from launching more verbal rockets at, you guessed it, Israel. Vice President Biden picked the right venue for his attacks on Israel and its government. The audience was a group called J Street, which is widely believed to be funded by George Soros, and claims to be pro-Israel but takes positions more consistent with the Israel bashers at the UN and in the EU than with those who stand with Israel. J Street was also a big "cheerleader" for Obama's ill-conceived nuclear deal with the mullahs of Iran.
Biden expressed the administration's "overwhelming frustration" with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and like Obama and Kerry, blamed "Israeli settlements" for the lack of progress in peace talks. Have Obama, Biden, or Kerry ever expressed "overwhelming frustration" with Iran? He made no mention of the fact that Netanyahu had previously frozen new construction in disputed territories but still the Palestinian Authority (PA) under "President" Mahmoud Abbas refused to come to the negotiating table. In recent weeks Abbas has reiterated that he and the PA will never accept the right of Israel to exist as the world's only Jewish State. In fact most of the Palestinian people see the entire state of Israel as a "settlement" and will never accept its existence.
If Israel took Obama/ Biden/ Kerry's advice it would be national suicide. These last nine months of the Obama Administration are a time of grave danger to U.S. national security as well as to our allies, most notably Israel. It isn't Israel that is moving in the wrong direction, it is America under the failed leadership of Obama/Biden.
Cecile's "Colonel Sanders Moment"?
I almost threw up when I heard what Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, said yesterday. "A woman voting for Ted Cruz is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders."
Just in case you missed the point she was making, chickens are slaughtered and dismembered in order to help Colonel Sanders' bottom line.
Richards, who is head of America's largest abortion business, is apparently clueless that her point about slaughtering chickens is the same point pro-lifers make about the organization she heads. Planned Parenthood specializes in the destruction of human beings for profit. Richards is certainly doing quite well for herself. She made nearly $600,000 last year. That's not "chicken feed."
People who have made videos revealing what happens to chickens in slaughterhouses are hailed as modern-day muckrakers. Meanwhile those who make pro-life videos exposing the gruesome reality of abortion and the abortion business find themselves under investigation by the U.S. government.
We've heard from the Left on numerous occasions that the unborn person has no rights under the Constitution, even right up to the moment of birth. And there are some influential people on the Left who believe that the right to kill one's child extends even beyond the moment of delivery.
Sadly, the pro-chicken lobby has a better chance of achieving its goal of humane treatment for chicks than we do of achieving our goal of humane treatment of defenseless unborn children, so long as our government is run by people who are this morally blind.
Putin Wins - Again
In recent days Russian military forces have conducted provocative encounters with U.S. military forces. Russian jets flew within 30 feet of the USS Donald Cook and a Russian interceptor flew within 50 feet of an American reconnaissance aircraft. Both acts could have easily led to an armed confrontation and loss of life.
Yesterday President Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation about Russian activities in Ukraine. Unbelievably, according to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, Obama did not raise the dangerous military provocation endangering our armed forces with Putin.
His failure to do so means Putin once again has outmaneuvered Obama. NATO and the nations of Eastern Europe are watching and they see Putin/Russian strength and Obama/American weakness. In addition, each unanswered provocation demoralizes our men and women in uniform while emboldening Russian forces. Putin is going to miss Barack Obama.
