Court Blocks Obama's Radical Bathroom Policy

As millions of children head back to school, concerned parents coast-to-coast received a welcomed reprieve from Obama's latest assault on our values.

Ever since he took office, Obama and his radical allies have been attempting to force their left-wing agenda on the American people. Several weeks ago, the administration threatened to withhold federal money from our public schools unless the schools agreed to radically redefine bathroom and locker room policies so that boys who claim to be girls could use the girls' bathrooms and locker rooms.

Not surprisingly, many school districts recoiled at this order. More than a dozen states sued the federal government for once again grossly exceeding its authority.

I am pleased to report that U.S District Judge Reed O'Connor of Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a nationwide injunction against Obama's unconscionable bathroom mandate.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Judge O'Connor ruled that the guidelines contradicted existing laws and regulations. The paper added, "And he appeared to agree with Texas' assertion that the guidelines 'hold a gun to the head' of local school districts."

This is good news, but it is by no means the end of the debate. The left is vowing to appeal the judge's decision and to press the issue in other venues, like sympathetic left-leaning school boards.

American Values and dozens of other pro-family organizations have urged Congress to forcefully reject Obama's latest bureaucratic power grab. We will continue to pressure our elected representatives on this fundamental issue of safety and personal privacy.

Are Terrorists Crossing The Border?

A disturbing report from key military officials warns that terrorists may be crossing our porous border. Col. Lisa A. Garcia, a spokeswoman for the United States Southern Command, told the Washington Free Beacon, "Networks that specialize in smuggling individuals from regions of terrorist concern, mainly from the Afghanistan-Pakistan region, the Middle East, and East Africa, are indeed a concern for Southcom and other interagency security partners who support our country's national security."

Col. Garcia added, "In 2015, we saw a total of 331,000 migrants enter the southwestern border between the U.S. and Mexico, of that we estimate more than 30,000 of those were from countries of terrorist concern."

The Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah is known to have an extensive smuggling network throughout Latin America.

The fact that 30,000 illegal immigrants from "countries of terrorist concern" crossed our border last year should be headline news. That this isn't a national scandal is journalistic malpractice and political malfeasance on the part of our elected leaders. National security is the government's primary obligation. And border security is national security!
