A Hero Comes Home

Fifty-two years ago at Dallas Love Field Airport, Major Roy Knight, Jr., said goodbye to his family, including his five year-old son, Bryan.  He was heading off to Vietnam.  His family never saw him again.

Major Knight was shot down in combat, and his parachute failed to deploy.  Rescue teams could not find him.  In 1974 he was declared killed in action and promoted to colonel.

"An Inconvenient Truth"

As you know, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump went to Dayton and El Paso yesterday, where they met with the victims of the mass shootings and their families, as well as first responders and local leaders.  There were many photos of people greeting the president and thanking him for his support.

The Healer-In-Chief

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, today to meet with some of the victims of the recent mass shootings and their families, as well as first responders.  Before he departed the White House, Trump took questions from reporters.

Asked what he would say to critics who claim his rhetoric is "emboldening white nationalists," Trump said:

The Hate Continues

Sunday night, radical left-wing demonstrators gathered outside the home of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.  They were protesting McConnell's opposition to undermining Second Amendment rights in the aftermath of the El Paso and Dayton shootings.

This was no polite protest.  McConnell is recovering from a broken shoulder sustained during a recent fall.  No mercy was evident here though.  These intolerant thugs put their hatred on full display.

One Horrific Weekend

The nation was reeling over the weekend from the horrific mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.  As you know, at least 31 people were killed and more than 50 were wounded.

Just hours ago, President Trump addressed the nation from the White House.  He denounced the "barbaric slaughters" as "an attack on our nation," saying, "America weeps for the fallen."  The president asked "God in Heaven to ease the anguish of those who suffer."

Poll Position

Today's Morning Consult poll shows that the latest round of debates did little, if anything, to shake up the Democratic presidential primary race as former Vice President Joe Biden continues to maintain a commanding lead.  Here are the results from the survey taken after both nights of debates:

Joe Biden 32%
Bernie Sanders 18%

Ugly. Squabbling. Slugfest.

Each of those three words was used in different press reports to describe last night's Democratic presidential debate.  Here are some of the media's observations.

The Hill declared, "Ugly Divisions On Display As Democrats Turn On Each Other."

Divisions On Display

The "moderates" in the Democrat Party may have made their last stand last night.
Two Washington Post headlines put it well:

"In Contentious Democratic Debate, Deep Divisions On Health Care Separate Liberals And Moderates"

"Evolution Or Revolution? Democrats' Ideological Divisions Broke Into The Open In Their Detroit Brawl"

Praying With The President

President Trump met yesterday at the White House with a group of black pastors, including Rev. Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Contrary to the left's delusional hysteria, this was not some hastily arranged "damage control" photo-op.

Speaking to Fox & Friends this morning, Dr. King said:

The Battle Of Baltimore

By now you are aware of the outrage du jour.  President Trump dared to call out Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) for caring more about migrants at the border while his constituents in parts of Baltimore continue to live in poverty.

Here's what the president tweeted:
