Pro-family activist and former presidential candidate Gary Bauer is outraged that a number of Christian organizations are sponsoring a reception in New York City for Iranian strongman Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The American Friends Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee, Quaker United Nations Office, Religions for Peace, and the World Council of Churches are hosting the special Muslim ceremony with Ahmadinejad, celebrating the end of Ramadan.

Gary Bauer, chairman of American Values, says there is no adjective that can fully describe this offense.

"Some of these people, I can guarantee you, would not have sat down with Ronald Reagan when he was president and probably would not sit down with George Bush today," Bauer contends. "And yet, they're willing to meet with a man that has denied the first Holocaust, while he routinely promises a second one."

This event, according to Bauer, completely undermines the credibility of organizations like the Quakers.

"The Quakers have a great history of following a pacifist philosophy which, while I disagree with it, I respect their consistency," he adds. "But a pacifist doesn't sit down with one of the greatest warmongers on the face the globe. It destroys the credibility of the leaders that are doing this."
