The Colorado Catastrophe
Ironically, yesterday’s decision by the Colorado Supreme Court banning Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot was both shocking and yet expected. It also, yet again, exposed the extremism of the neo-Marxist left.
While the left screams hysterically about “defending our democracy,” it is, in fact, attempting to overthrow our constitutional system.
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4 to 3 that Trump was ineligible to be on the ballot, citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment that prohibits those engaged in insurrection from holding public office.
The “insurrection” the 14th Amendment was referring to was the Civil War, in which 600,000 Americans died. Thirteen states raised an army and attempted to take control of the United States. That’s the kind of thing the 14th Amendment was intended to prevent when it comes to holding public office.
Trump urged his supporters to go to the Capitol “peacefully” to make their voices heard. This was after he requested the deployment of National Guard troops to make sure there wasn’t turmoil if the left also showed up on January 6th.
Only one person died inside Capitol Hill on January 6th -- a Trump supporter who was shot by a Capitol Hill police officer.
If that qualifies as “leading an insurrection,” then what are we to say about the hundreds of thousands of progressive activists who rioted throughout the summer of 2020 in an obvious attempt to intimidate the American people?
They were encouraged by Joe Biden. Kamala Harris bailed them out of jail. They were clearly being used as a tool of the neo-Marxist left.
But for several years now, progressive hacks in multiple cities have been trying to destroy Donald Trump and, by extension, the millions of people who see in him the only hope they have.
It’s worth repeating that the left wants Trump to go to prison and even die in prison. The charges they have brought would put him in prison for life. There is open speculation that if they can’t pull it off, they will get someone to kill him.
So, now we have a state Supreme Court, with all Democrat appointees, saying Trump is ineligible to be president because he “led an insurrection.”
Wrong! He contested an election. The only places in the world where you’re not allowed to contest the results of elections are dictatorships.
“But some Trump supporters rioted,” the left says. Well, if that’s the standard, there wouldn’t have been a Democrat president in the last 30 years!
Supporters of Joe Biden are rioting right now because they hate Jews more than they love Biden.
By the way, the last time Democrats did this to a Republican presidential candidate was in 1860, when ten Democrat slave states kept Abraham Lincoln off the ballot.
Where Is The Outrage?
I am furious that more elected conservatives aren’t banging on the table the way liberals would if a conservative state supreme court had just banned Joe Biden from the ballot.
Kudos to Speaker Mike Johnson. He blasted the move by the Colorado Supreme Court as a “thinly veiled partisan attack,” and called on the U.S. Supreme Court to “set aside this reckless decision and let the American people decide” who the next president will be.
Vivek Ramaswamy pledged to withdraw from the Colorado GOP primary if the decision was not reversed, and he challenged Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley to do the same. Still waiting.
The Colorado Republican Party also vowed to withdraw from the primary and hold a caucus instead if the decision isn’t overturned.
Meanwhile, virtually every leftist commentator on the air was praising the decision. That shows you the extent to which the left has totally abandoned constitutional government and is all in for authoritarianism.
Some said that the court struck a blow against Donald Trump. No, the 5.8 million people of Colorado were just denied their right to vote for the candidate of their choice.
Think about that. The left is celebrating the mass disenfranchisement of millions of voters! In the name of “saving democracy,” leftist judges just denied the people of Colorado their right to vote.
That doesn’t sound very “democratic” to me.
But it’s not just Colorado. There are similar lawsuits pending in 13 states with 95 million people who may also be denied their rights -- in the name of defending democracy.
This is the stuff of totalitarianism!
The Real Threat
It is not Donald Trump and the conservative movement that are threatening our constitutional Republic. It is the fanatical, neo-Marxist left that is the real threat to our freedom.
Clearly, the 2020 election was rigged. (You don’t have to believe that there were false ballots cast to know it was rigged, and I have outlined why for the past three years.)
Immediately after taking power, Biden and his progressive allies attempted rig future elections even more.
They tried to pack the Supreme Court. They tried to nationalize all federal elections. They wanted to create new states guaranteed to send more radical leftists to the Senate.
Thanks to Elon Musk, we know that Big Government collaborated with Big Tech to censor the views of millions of Americans who supported Trump. The left is in court today fighting to keep the right to censor us -- in the name of defending democracy.
They have done everything they can to delegitimize the Supreme Court, and then refused to enforce the law banning protests outside the homes of justices because they want the justices and their families to be afraid. Chuck Schumer threatened them, saying, “You won’t know what hit you.”
Biden surrounded the Capitol Building with barbed wire and deployed troops to deny the American people their right to free assembly and to visit their own Capitol.
He went to one of our most historically iconic places -- Independence Hall -- and accused half the country of being “fascists” and a threat to America.
At this moment, he has surrendered the borders of the United States to foreign invaders.
He gets up every morning thinking of how to fuel racial tensions for his own gain.
And through all this, we are supposed to conclude that Donald Trump is a “threat to democracy.”
Leftist Hypocrisy
The entire progressive movement, all of its media allies and much of the business community said that requiring a valid ID to vote in Georgia amounted to voter suppression and was undermining our democracy.
Those same forces are now applauding that they just prohibited millions of Coloradans from voting for their choice for president.
Meanwhile, I couldn’t help but notice that on same day the Colorado Supreme Court banned Trump from the ballot, he was in Iowa vowing to protect Christians from government persecution. He said:
"When I am back in the White House, never again will your government be used to target Christians and other religious believers. Upon taking office, I will create a new federal task force on fighting anti-Christian bias to be led by a fully reformed Department of Justice."
Just another reason why the secular, neo-Marxist left will do everything it can to prevent Trump or anyone like him from winning in 2024.
Even Democrat Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., is deeply upset by this decision. Kennedy wrote:
“If Trump is kept out of office through judicial fiat rather than being defeated in a fair election, his supporters will never accept the result. This country will become ungovernable.”
I hope Kennedy is right, that millions of Americans would never accept the result. But I fear too many are willing to just shut up and accept it.
