The Enemy Within, Farkas Fracas II, More Mysteries

The Enemy Within

Drexel University Professor George Ciccariello is back in the news. He made headlines in December when he tweeted, "All I want for Christmas is White Genocide." By the way, Ciccariello is white. Drexel said he was being sarcastic and refused to fire him.

Here's the latest from the learned professor. While on a flight last weekend, he tweeted: "Some guy gave up his first class seat for a uniformed soldier. People are thanking him. I'm trying not to vomit or yell about Mosul."

She's Back!

Hillary Clinton emerged from the woods last night to deliver what some described as "her first major post-election speech." As might be expected, her remarks to the Professional Businesswomen of California sounded like so much of the angry feminism that has come to dominate the left.

Trump Touts Jobs

Ford announced plans today to invest more than $1 billion in three Michigan plants, potentially creating hundreds of new jobs. President Trump celebrated the announcement this morning, tweeting, "Major investment to be made in three Michigan plants. Car companies coming back to U.S. JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!"

President Trump also went to the Environmental Protection Agency today. He was in the belly of the bureaucratic beast to sign an executive order rolling back Barack Obama's job-killing environmental regulations.

What Now?

In the wake of Friday's healthcare debacle, both sides within the Republican Party regrouped and made rational arguments for their positions over the weekend.

Trump Tried

After seven long, hard, grueling years, this was supposed to be a moment of victory for the GOP. This was supposed to be the beginning of the end of Obamacare.

Many viewed the legislation under consideration as far from ideal. But the circumstances are far from ideal. Repealing a major entitlement, and reforming an issue as complex as health care, is never going to be an easy process.

Will Obamacare Survive?

Today marks the seventh anniversary of Obamacare. After voters gave Republicans control of the House, the Senate and the White House on November 8th, many hoped that a vote today in the House of Representatives might mark the beginning of the end of Obamacare.

President Trump made another attempt today to persuade conservative holdouts in the House Freedom Caucus to support the leadership's repeal bill. But they emerged from the White House without a deal.

Terror In London

The heart of London was the scene of a terrorist attack today. According to initial reports, three people, including a police officer, were killed and as many as 20 were wounded, some with "catastrophic injuries."

The attack mirrors tactics Palestinian terrorists have repeatedly used in Israel. It began when a car started mowing down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge. The jihadist crashed his car, jumped out and attacked a policeman with a large knife. He was shot on the grounds of Parliament and later died.

All In

President Trump is all in when it comes to passing the legislation that begins the process of repealing Obamacare. The president went to Capitol Hill this morning to speak directly with House Republicans in advance of Thursday's vote. The bill, which continues to undergo last-minute changes, still faces resistance from members of the House Freedom Caucus.

Following the meeting, Speaker Paul Ryan said the president "knocked it out of the park," and made it clear that after years of promising action on Obamacare, this is the time to deliver.

Where's The News?

To say there is a lot going on in Washington this week would be a "YUGE" understatement. Major issues on the president's agenda (healthcare vote) and issues impacting his legacy (Gorsuch hearing) are coming to a head this week.

But what is likely to dominate tonight's evening news broadcasts and the headlines in tomorrow's papers is the testimony this morning by FBI Director James Comey and National Security Agency Director Admiral Michael Rogers before the House Intelligence Committee.
