Bin Laden Son-In-Law Captured

Last night news broke that we had captured Sulaiman Abu Ghaith -- Osama bin Laden's son-in-law. Abu Ghaith was involved in planning the 9/11 attacks and served as a spokesman for Al Qaeda, urging Muslims to wage jihad against the West after the attacks.

His capture is good news. One intelligence expert described Abu Ghaith as being one of the few remaining Al Qaeda leaders "capable of getting the old band back together."

Obama Shifts Strategy?

President Obama invited a dozen Republican senators to dinner last night. Rather than hosting them at the White House, where the president clearly has the upper hand, they met in neutral territory -- at the Jefferson Hotel. And Obama personally picked up the tab.

Punishing Middle America

Last week we warned that the administration seemed determined to make the sequester cuts as painful for the American people as possible in order to justify a tax and spend, big government agenda. Yesterday we got more proof.

An agricultural official in North Carolina recently asked his superiors in Washington for flexibility in managing the sequester cuts so that vital inspections would not be affected. Here is the response he got back:

Liberal Insanity

I am becoming increasingly convinced that the worldview of many on the left is simply insane. There is no other word to describe it. I was reminded of this in the last couple of days by some recent events that have taken place in our schools. These incidents speak volumes about the bizarre set of values that direct leftist thinking. But I am most concerned about the effect it has on normal little American boys and girls.

White House vs. Woodward

As we predicted, the White House was quick to retaliate against veteran journalist Bob Woodward. Yesterday evening, Woodward told CNN that a "very senior person" in the White House warned that he would "regret doing this." We now know that the person who relayed that threat was Gene Sperling, the director of the White House Economic Council.

Woodward Blasts Sequester "Madness"

While most media elites are bending over backwards to promote the left-wing agenda, Bob Woodard, one of the nation's most respected journalists, is ruffling feathers for daring to speak critically of this White House.

Opposition To Hagel Grows

The Senate is expected to hold another vote on Chuck Hagel's nomination to be Secretary of Defense this week -- perhaps as early as tomorrow. Yet as Democrats prepare to force Hagel's confirmation, they are doing so as opposition grows from pro-Israel groups.

Friday, B'nai B'rith International issued a statement that was critical of Hagel and urged a thorough review of his record. Here is an excerpt of the B'nai B'rith press release:

Sequester Armageddon?

To hear the breathless media reports you would think that we are on the verge of an economic collapse, not because of our runaway debt but because of spending cuts ranging from $22 to $85 billion (the sequester) scheduled to be implemented on March 1st. The budget this year is $3.7 trillion, which is the same as $3,700 billion, and we are being told that not spending 1/43 (on the high end) of that $3,700 billion will destroy us!

Rush Limbaugh was right yesterday when he said this about the crisis:
