Biden, Crime & The Border

President Biden went to New York City today to talk about crime.  The timing of his trip is very revealing.  He didn't go last week to attend the funeral of Officer Jason Rivera.  He didn't go yesterday to attend the funeral of Officer Wilbert Mora.

He can't find the time to attend the funerals of cops murdered in the line of duty, but he has the time for a photo-op to gaslight the American people.

If Biden really "got it" on crime, he not only would have been at one of those funerals, but he would also be making a trip to the southern border – his first real trip ever

He would be finishing the border wall.  He would not be allowing thousands of illegal aliens, guns and drugs to pour across our border each and every day.

The killer drug fentanyl is being smuggled across the border in record amounts.  Drug overdoses hit a record high last year, killing many people in your state.

Illegal aliens from all over the world are crossing our border.  From Syria.  From Iran.  From communist China.  From Russia.  Yes, Russia!

While Biden is sending 3,000 U.S. troops to Europe to deter Russia from crossing Ukraine's borders, more than 4,000 Russians crossed our southern border last year.

Are Ukraine's border more important than American's borders?  I guess Biden must think so.

This is a national scandal. It is an economic scandal that will depress the wages of hardworking Americans.  It is a national security scandal because Biden is allowing people from countries that support terrorism to come into our country.  Incredibly, he's even allowing them to use arrest warrants as IDs!

The left grossly politicized the impeachment process when it unfairly attacked Donald Trump over a phone call and a speech.  But there is no doubt that Joe Biden's blatant and willful disregard for federal immigration law and the sovereignty of our nation is an obvious impeachable offense.

This isn't about politics.  It's about the rule of law, the security of our country and the safety of our communities.

ISIS Leader Dead

Last night, an elite team of American Special Forces took out ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi during a raid on a compound in northern Syria.  He took over ISIS when Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in 2019.

Some early reporting was critical of the raid, alleging that several women and children were killed during the operation.  It turns out that al-Qurayshi blew himself up with a suicide vest, killing several members of his family in the process.

As a reminder, ISIS grew to be formidable force under the Obama/Biden Administration, which dismissed the jihadist group as the "JV team."  Within a few years, it had conquered much of Iraq and Syria, and created a caliphate that brutally oppressed 12 million people.

Then Donald Trump came into office, and he crushed ISIS.  Now Biden is back in the White House and ISIS is on the march again.  But the elimination of this radical Islamic supremacist is good news.

Free For How Long?

We used to call Western nations -- the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia -- "the free world."  While many people around the world suffered under authoritarian regimes, we had boisterous debates and energic elections.  Our freedom stood in clear contrast to the oppression of the Soviet Union, communist China and Castro's Cuba.

But COVID is erasing that distinction.  The pandemic has resulted in unprecedented oppression in the West.  Dissenting opinions are being censored.  Churches and businesses were closed.  Pastors were arrested.  And the opponents of these oppressive policies have been demonized as "racists."

Yesterday, Canadian officials suggested that the Canadian military might be deployed to deal with truckers who have been peacefully protesting against vaccine mandates.

Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau seemed to walk that back a bit, saying he would be "very, very cautious" about deploying troops and it's "not in the cards right now."

But Trudeau also noted that there has been no such request yet.  In other words, if local officials ask for extra firepower, he might authorize it.

I have often written that the Chinese virus not only caused illness and death, it also infected many bureaucrats with an authoritarian impulse causing tremendous social division.  Sadly, the COVID crisis has unmasked the authoritarianism of the Big Government left and exposed a liberty crisis in the free world.

That's why 2020 was not a normal election, and no election going forward will be a normal election.  The elections this year, two years from now and for some time in the foreseeable future will determine whether we remain free or morph into a globalist society dominated by elites and technocrats who mean to control us.

Mood Of The Nation

The Gallup Organization just released its annual "Mood of the Nation" survey.  It measures the public's satisfaction on more than two dozen issues, and it's down across the board.  Virtually everything has gotten worse compared to January 2020.

Here are some of the key findings:

  • Just 33% of Americans are satisfied with state of the economy.  That's down 35 points from 2020.

  • Just 24% of Americans are satisfied with the nation's policies on crime -- down 23 points from 2020.

  • Only 27% of Americans are satisfied with our energy policies (i.e., gas prices) -- down 17 points from 2020.

  • On America's military strength, satisfaction is down 20 points.

  • On our security from terrorism, it's down 21 points.

  • Satisfaction with the overall quality of life is down 15 points.

  • And just 20% of Americans are satisfied with the moral and ethical climate of the country, down 12 points from 2020.

It's clear that after one year of Joe Biden in the Oval Office, Americans are very concerned about our future!
