Biden’s Border Lies

In response to the growing opposition to the Senate’s terrible border deal, Joe Biden stood at the White House podium yesterday and declared:

“Every day between now and November, the American people are going to know that the only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican friends.”

Does he really think he can get away with this? It’s not only another outrageous lie from Joe Biden, it’s also very revealing.

What Biden demonstrated in those remarks is that he thinks the American people are stupid, dumber than rocks.

Everyone knows that Joe Biden wants open borders and that Donald Trump wants secure borders. That’s why the left calls anyone who wants secure borders a “racist.”

There’s really nothing else to say, other than it reflects Biden’s dim view of the average American.

Another Secret Deal

As illegal immigration broke yet another record last year, a panicked Biden White House dispatched Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas to beg Mexico for help in stopping the flow of illegal aliens.

So, Mexico’s Marxist leader sat down with representatives from our Marxist regime in late December and negotiated another secret deal. One can only imagine the conversation.

Blinken and Mayorkas probably told Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, “Hey, unless you want to face Donald Trump in 2025, you better get this under control.”

But Obrador knew he had the upper hand, and he had a demand: Mexico would crack down on illegal immigration if Biden agreed to more foreign aid for Latin America, including Marxist dictators in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

A formal statement following the meeting announced that there was an agreement to increase “diplomatic and political engagement with all countries in the region,” with the United States “investing in ambitious development programs throughout the entire hemisphere.”

Days later, it was reported that Obrador demanded $20 billion from Biden, an end to the U.S. blockade of Cuba, lifting all sanctions against Venezuela, and work permits for at least 10 million illegal aliens in the United States, so they can send remittances back home.

When Donald Trump was in office, it was the exact opposite. He told Mexico to get illegal immigration under control, or he would impose tariffs on Mexican products coming across the border.

Deal Blocked

This afternoon, the Senate voted 49 to 50 to block the terrible border deal from moving forward. That’s a victory – for now.

The last seven days have been very bad for the Deep State, the Uniparty, the Washington establishment and American elites. They thought they had this terrible deal in the bag.

Senator James Lankford (R-OK), in my opinion, unwisely took this assignment from GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to be the chief negotiator for Republicans, perhaps assuming that as a strong pro-life Christian, he had a lot of goodwill among conservatives.

Sadly, Rush Limbaugh is gone, so the Swamp assumed it didn’t have to worry about his influence blowing up this bill, like he had done so many times before.

With no complaints from the media, they conducted the negotiations behind closed doors for months. Normally, the media would be attacking the lack of transparency. Normally, conservatives would be attacking liberals for concocting schemes that the voters can’t see.

But the fix was in. Democrat leaders and Republican leaders didn’t want the American people to know what was going on.

Unbelievably, when leaks occurred and people started criticizing what was in the bill, the critics were blasted because they “haven’t read the text yet.”

Ponder that for a moment. Why hadn’t they read it? Because the senators wouldn’t release the text.

Moreover, the bill is 370 pages long. Americans, who hyperventilate every time they go to the grocery store, don’t have time to read 300 pages of legislative legalese. It’s unlikely that most members of Congress fully understand it or know what’s in it.

But, in spite of all the left-wing media spin and all the elites who were behind this deal, it failed because the American people were not behind it.

What’s so astonishing is that so many politicians seem shell-shocked by this defeat.

How is it possible that they don’t realize the level of outrage as our country is being invaded on a daily basis?

Well, they probably don’t have to wait hours in a hospital emergency room overrun with illegal aliens. Their kids probably aren’t in schools with students speaking a dozen different languages. They don’t have to worry about their wife being attacked when she’s out shopping by gangs of illegal aliens.

A good portion of the country is still working from home. Maybe we should make the politicians work at home more often. That way, they can see what life is like in carjacked Chicago and looted San Francisco. They can see the gang warfare in our schools among gangs that aren’t even American kids -- “imported” gangs!

We’ve imported foreign gangs, just as we continue to import hate.

A Disappointing Vote

Last night, the effort to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas failed on a 214 to 216 vote. Among House Republicans, 214 out of 219 voted to remove Mayorkas, while 212 out of 212 Democrats voted to keep the man who runs the daily invasion of America in office.

Some people are saying the vote was an embarrassment. I disagree. I believe it was a disappointment. Having votes is how you educate people. And Americans need to know which politicians voted to keep Mayorkas.

Three Republicans -- Buck (R-CO), Gallagher (R-WI) and McClintock (R-CA) -- opposed the impeachment effort, and there was some confusion about Rep. Blake Moore’s (R-UT) “no” vote.

There were reports that Moore was a coward and switched his vote at the last minute when it was clear the impeachment effort had failed on a tie vote. That is not what happened.

Under House rules, a bill dies on a tie vote. But a vote can be reconsidered at a later time as long as a member of the leadership is on the winning side.

So, someone in the GOP leadership had to change their vote to be in the majority. That task fell to Rep. Moore in his capacity as House Conference vice chairman.

His vote was a smart parliamentary maneuver to allow the impeachment of Mayorkas to come up again. Hopefully, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), who was absent due to cancer treatments, will be back in the House chamber soon.

Biden Takes Israel Hostage

There was another disappointing vote in the House yesterday. It was a vote that would uphold our military partnership and alliance with Israel in its war against Hamas.

But it was fast-tracked to the floor and needed a two-thirds vote to pass. Sadly, it fell short on 250 to 180 vote. Only 46 House Democrats voted to support Israel, while 166 Democrats voted against the bill.

The vote was doomed to fail because Joe Biden threatened to veto that standalone Israel aid bill if it passed. That gave progressives cover to label the vote a charade.

And that brings me to an important note.

Much of the dysfunction we are seeing in Congress is because the leftists who run the White House and the Senate are insisting that aid for Ukraine, aid for Israel and a bad border compromise all be wrapped up in the same piece of legislation.

There is no logical reason to do that.

The only reason they are doing this is to make it as hard as possible for voters to reward the politicians who are doing what the voters want and to vote out the politicians who are doing things they don’t want.

So, they put multiple issues in one bill. If you’re in a district that is not happy with the border provisions, you can tell voters, “I didn’t like that either. But I know how pro-Israel you are, and the only way we could get help to Israel is to vote for this imperfect border bill.”

If you’re in a left-wing district, you can tell people, “I was disappointed that Congress gave more money to the Zionists. But this was the only way we could stop the racist conservatives from closing the border.”

It’s a shell game and a perfect example of why Americans are so cynical about politics.

Nevada Results

After Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis dropped out of the GOP primary, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley got the two-person race she desperately wanted. And yesterday’s Nevada primary looked like an easy win for her because Donald Trump wasn’t even on the ballot. (He’s competing in tomorrow’s caucuses, where the delegates will actually be chosen.)

Unfortunately for Haley, there was another option on the Nevada ballot, and she lost 2 to 1 to “None of these candidates.” Here’s how Politico described her loss: “Worse Than You Can Imagine.”

Meanwhile, Joe Biden won 89% of the vote in the Democrat presidential primary.
