Smith v. Trump

As we have reported, Special Counsel Jack Smith is very eager to get a conviction against Donald Trump as soon as possible. His best chance involves the case filed against Trump in the Washington, D.C., federal court system currently before Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee.

Smith wants Trump to be a convicted felon, setting up another round of ballot questions, and he’d really like him to be in jail before the election.

In fact, Smith is so eager to get a conviction that he made “an extraordinary request” to have the Supreme Court preemptively decide the issue of presidential immunity, bypassing certain appeals courts and Donald Trump’s due process rights.

Friday afternoon, the justices rejected Smith’s overzealous attempt to short-circuit the legal process. As a result, Trump’s trial in Judge Chutkan’s courtroom will remain paused while the issue of presidential immunity works its way through the appeals process.

This aggressive action by Smith is typical for him. As a reminder, he destroyed the career of former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell only to have the Supreme Court unanimously overturn McDonnell’s conviction after finding that Smith essentially abused the law and the powers of his office in persecuting McDonnell.

The Intolerant Left

The left’s attacks on Speaker Mike Johnson are unrelenting. They decided to ruin Christmas for his family by attacking his daughter and his faith because they can’t find anything else on him.

Left-wing American media outlets, and even some British media outlets, are attacking Speaker Johnson because he took his daughter to a “purity dance” years ago. The reports claimed, without evidence, that Johnson required his daughter to attend the event and that “she was made to take a vow of abstinence.”

This was presented to us as the latest example of Johnson’s “deeply held views.” Oh, the horror!

I am outraged by these attacks on normal Christianity, and you should be, too!

The Bible teaches that the gifts of human sexuality should be channeled through marriage. Now the left wants to label normal Christianity as something crazy and cultish. They’re saying this as moral standards in the United States and the West generally are in total meltdown.

But no one is rethinking the “sexual revolution” and its negative impacts on society – the explosion of out-of-wedlock pregnancies, increasing abortions, the breakdown of the family and everything else that results from it.

Is anyone on the left rethinking these disastrous results? No, they’re too busy attacking the people who want to uphold Judeo-Christian norms.

Over the last 30 years, the left has repeatedly said, “Live and let live,” as these cultural battles have raged on. “Don’t tell us how we have to live or what we can do in our bedrooms,” they would say. And some conservatives bought into this.

But no society is “values neutral.” There are certain things it holds up and things it wants people to avoid.

Not that long ago, our society wanted people to avoid sex at early ages, avoid multiple partners and sex outside of marriage. Now it’s totally upside down.

Being virtuous is considered “weird,” and what you should avoid is contact with those “crazy Christians” who try to protect their children’s innocence.

And don’t miss this key point: There’s nothing in any of these articles that suggests Speaker Johnson has a legislative plan to force every American to follow his values. No one is pointing to legislation that appropriates millions of dollars for “purity dances.” There is no public policy effort to do that.

The left isn’t attacking Johnson because he has the power to teach your daughter how to be chaste. He’s being attacked simply because he taught his daughter to be chaste.

Again, my friends, the left has no intention of letting us just “live and let live.” The left will attack our values every chance it gets until no one is willing to speak up and fight back in defense of Faith, Family and Freedom.

Targeting Christmas

Radical pro-Hamas protesters took to the streets outside the Virginia homes of National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Christmas Day.

Sullivan, as you may recall, played a major role in spreading various elements of the Russia collusion hoax. He never paid a price for it. In fact, he was rewarded with a top position in the Biden White House. But I digress. . .

These pro-Palestinian, anti-Semitic crazies were chanting justifications for mass murder, such as, “Resistance is justified when people are occupied!” Outside of Austin’s home, they also chanted, “Austin, Austin, rise and shine. No sleep during genocide!”

Imagine hearing that outside your home as your family is trying to celebrate the birth of Christ.

But to me, there is a bigger underreported story.

We just went through the Chanukah and the Christmas seasons. During these holy weeks, there were attacks on Jewish and Christian symbols and events. It was systematic. It was all over the country. It was intentional.

In virtually every case, a significant percentage of the people involved were adherents of Islam, along with their left-wing allies.

During the past 22 years after 9/11, anytime anything untoward happened at a mosque or against any Muslim, the country’s political and media elites went ballistic and defended Islam as “a religion of peace.”

Well, a segment of Muslim America has just spent the last four weeks attacking Jewish and Christian events, and there’s not been one statement from Biden or the media condemning these attacks on Jewish and Christian events as “religious bigotry” or “un-American.”

There’s nothing. Just crickets.

This silence will predictably lead to even more aggressive and violent action in the near future. There will be outright attacks on churches and synagogues. There will be sit-ins inside churches and synagogues. There will be demonstrations outside the homes of Christian and Jewish leaders.

If it isn’t confronted now, it will get worse.

Here’s something to ponder about where this could lead.

Donald Trump has said that he would reestablish the immigration ban on nations supporting terrorism. Most of those nations are Islamic countries.

The left reflexively attacked Trump’s plan, even in the middle of these rampages by adherents of Islam against other faiths. All he wants to do is stop importing more hate until we can figure out who is peaceful and who is going to abuse our laws.

Well, there was a disturbing anti-Israel demonstration in Paris. Jews were told to stay home, and the French government was widely criticized for not doing anything in response to the roving mobs in the streets.

The Macron government then announced that it would ban future demonstrations over the controversy in the Middle East. A few days later, one million Muslims marched in Paris. A Muslim man in the huge crowd got his 15 seconds of social media fame when he leaned into the camera and said, “We conquered Paris faster than Hitler did.”

Bibi’s Christmas Message

In stark contrast to the way some radical Islamists and pro-Hamas thugs demonstrated their disrespect for Christmas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Israel’s Christian friends around the world. He said:

“To our Christian friends around the world, Merry Christmas.

“Christmas is supposed to be a time of good will to all men and peace on Earth. Well, we don’t have peace on Earth, not in our part anyway, and we certainly don’t see good will to all men.

“We’re facing monsters, monsters who murdered children in front of their parents and parents in front of their children, who raped and beheaded women, who burned babies alive, who took babies hostages.

“This is a battle, not only of Israel against these barbarians, it’s a battle of civilization against barbarism. And I know in this that we have your support.

“I want to thank you for your support. I want to thank you for your prayers. And I want to assure you, that as we stand together, we will also prevail. We shall win this war and secure our common values and our common future. Thank you.”
